I would think the Walker Saorview & satellite tv is all that's available at that kind of price. Link is to 26" version: larger screens are available.

Most of the ads say the TVs are saorview ready, what do I need to look out for to ensure they can receive FTA also?

The tv specs. should list DVB-S2 in the 'tuner' category. Take a look here.

The Samsung & Panasonic models are considerably more expensive than the Walker. There are a couple of lesser known makes that seem to be aimed at the camping market & also come with built in DVD players & 12v power option.

Just beware those TVs will only show "now and next" on the Satellite channels, and if any channels move transponder you will need to manually re-tune and sort the channels again. This happens 2 or 3 times a year on the important satellite channels. This is fine for a techie but annoying to the average user who ends up after autotune with dozens of Channel 4, Channel4, Channel 4 etc regional variations.

At your price range for say a 32" the Walker fits the bill and is cheap. There are very few other options at that price. The screen is average for that price range. I know the TV guide for the Saorview channels is vvvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy slow on some models of Walker TVs so make sure to test the loading time of the 7 day guide and the new teletext on RTE1 and make sure it loads quickly.

Let us know how you get on.
