Wanted : Touring Bike Wheel

    Looking for a 700c Touring/Hybrid back wheel. ATM the bike is fitted with 700x28 tyres . Back wheel is in bad shape ... The bike has a 120mm rear axle spacing. 5 speed screw on freewheel I think

    Bike was originally fitted with Weinmann rims and Maillard hubs back in the 80's Front is fine..

    Its a long shot I know but does anyone know where I can get my mitts on a wheel like this.. Or will I just get one built...?

    is it definitely for touring?

    If youre getting one built Id go for a mavic A119 rim... cheap cheerful and bombproof for touring.. in a 36...

    on crc for €20.. if youre hub is still good and you like it then have it built up on the old one.. keep that retro look!

    if your hub in ok then use it to rebuild the the wheel , i reall dont think you will find a wheel like yours .

    Thanks for that lads... It looks like I am going to have to build.....

    I have a set of old MA40's that the back rim is split on.. The wheels have Campag Record hubs.. I must offer the back wheel up to the frame and see if it fits.. AFAIK the back wheel is a 6 speed.. I could probably get the frame altered to suit

    That will make nice retro wheels .. silver A119 rims with Campag hubs ! :cool:

    I will have to get a few pics up when she is ready...!
