Swapping out lcd for led screen

I'm putting in a new screen on a 15.6" lcd laptop. Unfortunately I was sent
an led one ie different video connector and no inverter cable. I presume that because its led it wont need an inverter and can just get the images through
the video cable. Would I therefore be able to get a 30 to 40 pin connector and hook it up?
Its still under warranty and I can send it back, but it would be great if this can be done. Anybody tried it? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated
