Just ware a base layer pair of trousers under a normal pair of water proofs, really comfortable and cosy to pay in.

I got a pair of flannel-lined combat trousers last time I was in the States for about $12, best purchase ever. Not sure of anywhere here that does them as cheap, sorry. If you're ever over in the U.S. invest in a few! A must for winter golf.

Any good socks for warmth while we are at it?

Pennys have thermal socks for a 5er, do a great job.

Do not get the Lidl ones... they burn the feet off you .. and not for heat reasons. pure nylon Id say. :D

I just wear ski socks if there is frost out...also, top tip; dont leave your golf shoes in the boot overnight, bring them in so they are not frozen lumps when you put them on!

Got a pair of waterproof Dwyer and Co in Mcguirks last week, they are fleece lined. Tried on a similar pair from Calvin Klein. Both were about €90.

Tried on the fleece lined trousers but didn't like the feel of them. Settled on a pair of Underarmour ColdGear golf trousers. May not be as warm as the fleece lined trousers but found them ideal and they don't get too hot when the sun comes out.

TK Maxx carry the craghoppers range so you'll get a decent bargain there if you can be bothered to try find you size.
