Courier recommendation please.

I am looking for someone to honestly recommend which couriers they think would suit the following Heavy items "tools" from UK to Ireland may need to be on pallet but may also be heavy ish box 20-40kg + Small and medium items within Ireland As have never used a courier before a quick explanation on how it generally works…

As have never used a courier before a quick explanation on how it generally works would be nice too, do they come to me to collect the item do I go to a base etc
