I bought a 00 Toyota Vitz the other day. I just noticed that there is no clock. I know everything is in a slightly different place but I have looked everywhere for a clock. Did they not have one? Seems very strange to me

Cycle thru the display on the trip computer?

Google advises it is part of this :)

OP did you not get a manual with the car?

if its a mk1 vitz with analogue gauges then no, i think it doesn't have a clock. 99% of the vitz don't have the center console trip computer where the irish yaris clock is displayed.

you can buy the trip computers very cheaply from breakers (i got mine for €30 afaik) and the plug was behind the dash on the vitz loom and all i had to do was plug it in and hey presto :)

If you don't have a European radio, then maybe get one with a clock?

I didn't get a manual with the car. There's two buttons on the dash. One cycles through the actual mileage and options for tracking mileage for a specific journey. The other button doesn't appear to do anything, so I'm thinking maybe there was a clock but it's broken. I'll just have to survive without one until I can afford to replace the radio. I can't believe how much I miss a silly little thing like that!

Think if you hold the other button it controls the brightness of the speedo?

Thanks, I'll give that a try later. Having a button that doesn't do anything really annoys me for some reason!

That's what it's for alright. I'd never have worked it out
