I may have to stay in Dublin city one night per week. Does anyone know of hotels that reduce their rates if booked on the actual day of stay? or any websites that slash prices on the day? Thanks

Somewhere like hotwire.com might be helpful.

They don't tell you the name of the hotel until you've booked but you'll see the location.
