Unemployed for a good while, just been offered a job to start in January. Its just a reception/admin thing so I was really suprised that I have to go for a medical first. I have never had a medical for similar jobs before.

I am in the very early stages of pregnancy, and it won't affect the job at all as the job is a short contract only for 5 months. But I'm totally stressing about the medical now!

Its with their own doctor... do I have to tell him I'm pregnant? I haven't even been to my own doc yet its so early. I really don't want my employer to know yet, but if they ask me outright and I deny it will I be in breach of something? Will or can he even ask or test for this?

Probably looking for OOS or back problems, maybe drug use. Most likely 100% of employees have to have one.

Don't stress, just do the medical and tell the whole truth.

Maybe even bring it up first, and make sure that the doctor knows it's just a 5 month contract you're getting, and you'll be grand

company medicals are generally height, weight, hearing, eyesight, BP and possiblly a drug test through a urine sample. no need to tell them as long as it does not affect your health whilst doing the job i.e the position is not in a heavy industry that could put your bump in danger, chemicals etc
    otherwise keep mum :o
