    Hi guys.
Just looking for a few suggestions!
A 4 night trip planned arriving this coming Sun til Thursday.
Afternoon Tea in Ashford Castle possibly on Tues as well as a Spa afternoon on the agenda...perhaps Monday?
Thinking of taking a spin out to Achill on the Wednesday.
Westport House should be worth a visit on Sun afternoon as the Winter Wonderland Experience starts.
Doesnt leave a whole lot of time for much else....but am open to ideas if theres something else thats well worth experiencing!
    Cheers folks x

any beaches around Clew Bay and south of Louisburgh

    2. Greenway Cycly Wesport/Newport/.Mulranny/Achill

Hire companies may assist in pickup and drop off at any of above points

    3. Climb Croagh Patrick - need proper footwear and gear this time of year

4, Many shops to browse - book shops, souvenirs etc

    5. Heritage exhibition at Quay ( not sure if open this time of year )

    6. And of course pubs

You could nip out to Louisburgh and pop into the Famine Museum and Gráinne Uaile Centre.

You could visit the Museum of Country Life (http://www.museum.ie/en/intro/country-life.aspx) in Turlough, Castlebar. A great place to visit and not too far from Westport. Free entry as well.

    Hi all.
Firstly, thanks to you all for your replies/suggestions! Didnt get a chance to post before we went.
Well...it rained solid for 3 out of the 4 days we were there so didnt get much of a chance to do some of the outdoorsy things suggested.
The one dry day we got we had ourselves booked into The Spa. Typical!
Well, we went to Ashford Castle, enjoyed far too much retail therapy(!!), went to Spa, dropped into Knock enroute home....those were the main things. Oh, and of course we went to Matts for an evening of trad too!
All in all a great few days away despite the incessant rain!
Westport and surrounds has soo much to offer...wouldnt hesitate to recommend it!
