I am doing up the boxroom after Christmas and am looking for some ideas. It's a small north facing room which get very little sun. The room will have a bed (spare bed for visitors who have had too much to drive home ;)),hopefully it will also have a small wardrobe, storage and a desk to work from home occasionally. The floor will be walnut but I cannot make my mind up about colours for the wardrobe doors etc. I was thinking of cream but am afraid it might look too 'kitcheny'. I think the room is too small and dark for walnut or anything dark. My niece suggested doing lime green doors with walnut desk  Although it might look ok. Any suggestions ?

White all the way. It will help brighten up the room. And it can always be easily changed.

Definitely hold out till the Jan sales :D

You could go with a white or vanilla gloss door with a walnut trim and a walnut finish on the desktop. It looks really well with walnut floor but is bright and will not overpower the room. The only prob with coloured doors is that you are tied into a colour scheme and fitted robes are a big enough investment.
