    Hi,
As an occasional part of my job, I have to be outdoors promoting the image of my business. The problem is that, now that it's winter and we're having a cold snap, I'm concerned that this will adversely affect my health. I wear layers and a thick jacket normally.

But for this part of my job I am not permitted to wear anything but the work uniform (no jacket). Every time I have to do this I come home with muscle aches from the cold. Does anyone here know of an official link to information about my rights where this is concerned?

    Thank you,
    Frozen1.

    Outdoor Working

Regulation 62(1) of the 2007 Regulations provide that an employer shall ensure that personal protective equipment is provided to employees where the risks to the safety and health of employees while at a place of work cannot be avoided. The 2007 Regulations require that an employer, when providing personal protective equipment to employees, take into account a non-exhaustive list of activities and sectors of activity which may require the provision of personal protective equipment. For example, it is recommended that employees working outdoors during cold or wet weather should be provided with weatherproof or waterproof clothing.
