Nespresso machine

    Recently invested in a Latissmo?

    Few queries

Is there any way to reset the amount of coffee that comes out back to factory? Think we may have pushed a wrong button or two and the cappucino only spits out a tiny amount of coffee...

Also, the coffee doesn't actually seem very hot? I could literally take a big swig from the cup straight from the machine.

Any reccomendations of where to get the cartridges and what are peoples favourites?

Usually you can tailor the amount the machine pours by pressing the button and holding it down until your desired/preferred amount comes out, and the machine will remember this and use this amount in future.

As regards the temperature, i would make 2 suggestions.
    1. I always run water through the machine before putting in a capsule - this heats the machine some bit, cleans out reside from previous use, and also heats your cup.
    2. If you are making latte/capp then this obviously doesn't apply, but I always make an espresso sized shot and top it up with boiled water (think it is suggested that you let the water come off the boil for 30 secs), it's nice than filling the cup from machine.

I've had couple of Nespresso machines over the years and these little things make a surprising difference.

I got my wife a pixie made by krups for christmas and we love it. We were never into Nespressos before but the ease and speed of getting a lovely cup of quality coffee is brilliant. Would definitely recommend. We both work in the city centre Dublin so getting capsules isnt a problem....outside of dublin I believe you have to order through the net.

Is there a way to regulate the amount of coffee
On My krups there are three settings
The long setting doesnt seem that much

    More like a double espresso

How many mls should I be getting?

There should be something in the manual that came with the machine about recalibrating the amount of coffee that each setting dispenses.

    like this:

With nespresso machines, you should not push water through the capsule until you reach your desired volume of coffee (mug for example). Instead always pull as espresso and top up with water to desired volume. If that's not strong enough use one of the lingo caps for a large coffee dose or a second cap for another espresso.

The reason is that you can only get a fixed amount of good coffee out of a cap, after that all the bad flavours will come.
