I'm very interested to learn about Ireland's breast cancer screening programs and hear about what research may be underway at different facilities in Ireland. How do we compare against other EU states and what kind of funding is being provided by the government? Has the recession and cutbacks affected levels of screening etc?

Would be great to hear from anyone that either works in the industry or is doing research, I work with the IT components of PACS and tissue density assessment systems so am keen to hear about whats on the go in Ireland. Is breast tissue density currently being assessed? There are big debates on in the US right now over the patients right to be told her tissue density in order to gauge risk and need for an ultrasound as well as mammo.
