Fire / wall insulation

    Hi all im looking to insulate an ope in a wall , i have the boundary wall , then a gap and then the internal wall , my question is im on the third floor of a terraced apartment block , there is a a draft an a smell rising from the ground floor into the bedroom where i wish to insulate. i ve attached a pic .
    can anybody offer advice on which way is the best way to go ?

    We are looking down into the floor. The space between walls drops down about 3.3mtrs.
