I'm a big fan of two Danish TV shows - The Killing and Borgen. One is a crime procedural drama with lots of suspense, the other a political story about Denmarks first female prime minister. Both shows underline the fact that there is a world full of brilliantly scripty and elegantly executed TV shows that we rarely come into contact with in the anglosphere. Anyone have an recommendations?

    The Bridge.

Crime drama in which a bi-national police team is put together to investigate when the body of a woman is found in the middle of the Oresund Bridge between Sweden and Denmark.

Spiral - French gritty cop drama. I haven't seen it myself but have heard it's supposed to be a really good one.

Morse - Cerebral detective in the University city of Cambridge in England. Not every episode is University related.

Hill Street Bllues - Busy Police Station/Cop-Shop in New York during the 1980's.

French cop-drama. A little bit like The Shield in that the cops are as bad as the gangsters. Starts strongly but loses it’s way badly near the end. Only watched 1 season.

I was planning on watching that as soon as I was finished Homeland. Is it worth bothering with?
