Where is the power steering fluid filter on a Massey 698? It's front wheel assist. Yes, I can call the dealer or even pull off the loader and open the hood to find it, but I'll be gone for awhile and thought I'd borrow your brainpower. Thanks guys/gals.

As far as I can remember the698 still has the same power steering system as all the older series. In this case the filter is housed in the pump casing itself. From memory you have to open the nut on the back of the casing and then they should seperate leaving you looking at the filter

That makes sense as it sure doesn't appear to be an inline filter and the case IS large enough to accomodate a filter the size that appears in pictures. Thank you, Skippy....appreciate that info.:)

Please tell me that I don't have to remove the starter to install the filter !!!!!

Was a time you opened the car bonnet and the filter was in plain view. Nowadays you need a mirror and a set of spanners. Obviously the makers are trying to deter DIY.

    Tractors going the same way.
