Has anyone recently applied for the Indian tourist visa online? I am unsure how to do the photo part of the application. Their requirements are very specific and I wonder if I have to go to a photo shop to get them to take the photo and get them to put it on a USB stick for me? Help!

It would help if you posted a link to the relevant website where they're asking for your photo.

Normally they want a 4:3 or square JPEG photo and once it's on your hard drive or a memory stick inserted into your PC you just point at it and the website will do the upload for you.

Thank you for your very speedy reply. https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/indianVisaReg.jsp

They state they want the photo to be 2" x 2" and the face should be 1" etc. I am just wondering how I can do this myself with my own camera and get the dimensions exactly how they want them.

Wouldn't it be easier to go to the photo shop, tell them the dimensions you require and you're done. Hassle free, no? Not prohibitively expensive either.

Yes you are probably right! I am getting in a panic because I should have done this ages ago rather than waiting two weeks before I fly!

Ask a friend to take your pass port photo with light back ground. go to harvey norman. select passport photo option and choose american one its 2 x 2. pay 15 cent and off you go. I have always used this for myself and kids...

It only takes a week to drop it off yourself to the Embassy then collect it.
