    Looking for advice please.

I have recently purchased a house that has electric storage heaters throughout, which I will be taking out and installing GFCH.

Is there different qualities of GFCH systems I could choose from?

I estimate I need the following basics:
    - boiler
    - rads x 11 (bedrooms x 3 toiletx1 reception x 1 hall x1 sitting x1 kitchen x 1 utility area x 1 wc x 1)
    -extras ?

Its an extended 3 bed semi (1,884 Sq. Feet)

How much should I budget for ?
What would you do (gas trades persons only please) ?

    Ta in advance

    L

You could do upstairs down stairs and hot water with a weather compensator. Or you could bring the rads back to a manifold and each one controled by a room stat and actuator on the manifold, the same for upstairs and you can still use a 3 channel programmer and weather compensator.

You could be looking at 4500/5000 upwards so you will need to sit down with a few contrators and decide what you want and then a more accurate quote can be got. Make sure the quotes are open and detailed so you can compare quotes. You would be surprised how many just get a figure in a email.

Can you break this down a little more for me and explain what each of the different things do?

    Weather compensator?
    Room stat and actuator?
    3 channel programmer?

Sorry but you sound like you know what you're on about so I would be interested in getting more details.

I have been doing a bit of homework and I will also change the tank for one that has 3 sections so if I want to add solar later on down the road I can.

I find if I ask a trades person what they would do if it was their home i usually get the best answers.
Also my wife has contacts in the trade (Glow worm brand) that could supply all items at trade prices so I don't mind reinvesting the savings if it means getting a proper good heating system.
