Stopped on the way home from work yesterday by a Garda armed support unit checkpoint and i instantly thought...that would be a sick loadout...surely be very illegal though?

im pretty sure that would be illegal, as it may be seen as impersonating a garda.

leave off the 'Garda' and it's just a 'man in black' rig out !

Very easy to copy and as whydave said, once there's nothing stating Gardai on it your ok

    you could try these :
1.Emergency Response Unit (Cyprus), a division within the Cyprus police
    2.Garda Emergency Response Unit
3.Emergency Response Unit (IFRC), pre-trained teams of specialist volunteers of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
4.Emergency Response Unit (Iraq), an elite counter-terrorism unit of the Iraqi Police
    5.Emergency Response Unit (Liberia)
6.Emergency Response Unit (Norway), a division of the Norwegian Police Service

Worked out the logistics on this before.

Very achievable loadout with most of the equipment easily available through the normal Asian retailers.

TM MP7 is your only man for the job.

Most of the kit actually, where it normally says Guardaí or whatever, the default copy **** comes saying "police" so your grand in that respect.

Will most likely cost you around €450 including gun from what I priced up, granted that is a few years ago.

And assuming you wont be walking into garages or driving in the full loadout, I think your safe from impersonating ;)

as long as it doesnt say "gardai" on it there is nothing they can do.you could even have "police" on it and they still cant touch you as we dont have "police" in this country...as an example i use french army central european camo.its very similar to irish dpm [looks great with my styer aug a1] and has a very irish like apperance to it but as its not irish cops cant touch me for using it

Incorrect - we do have police here, they just aren't called that as Irish is the first language of the state. Additionally there's Airport, Harbour police etc.

You cannot go around wearing badges that say "Police" - armed, uniformed Gardaí actually have patches saying police, although I don't know if the directive forcing them to be worn ever filtered down from the EU.
