Did anyone buy one on impulse and want to shift it on?

Forgot all about it until today, and they're completely sold out. Gutted.:(

Try ringing head office and ask if other stores have any left. I think Aldi usually keep a few of these around.

They're like the common cold, there'll be another one around the corner before you know it.

The phone mic is no good, but they're not a bad cheap headunit imo

I think they are decent enough apart from the actual radio tuner which is definitely weaker than my OEM radio. It often goes out of tune.

I find mine to be good, though not very powerful.

    Cheers guys.

Rang the hotline which is where I found out they were sold out around the country.
Been spending more time in the car recently and have been using an fm transmitter to listen to my podcasts. It's not very good though, and I've actually noticed that when using it, the TomTom app on the phone can't get a signal!
So I've decided to look for something with an aux in. And since this yoke has the Bluetooth with external mic, I thought it'd be the thing to go for (since I don't have a hands free kit).
Not worried about the power output, but disappointed to hear about the tuner dropping out.

Really? Why's that? They're recommended on here fairly often.

I don't recommend one. They are rubbish

Got one for the old Ducato, had a remote, played cds, mp3's through a usb etc but the sound was awful and the tuner outside Dublin city was pathetic. Infact it wouldn't work atall outside the city, just static.

Got another one, same result. Currently sitting in the garage

Now I have a Pioneer in my car that was cheaper to buy new than the Silvercrest, with remote, aux in etc. I can pick up Radio Nova in Portadown. That's the main difference, it actually works as a radio and very well at it too.

My point being, if one were to look hard enough, a better option usually is waiting to be discovered

you actually got a new pioneer radio for under 60 euro ?? hard to believe!

i find the lidl radio fine decent sound, bluetooth does what it's supposed to do, can have a heap of tunes on an SD card no need for CDs, i have no problems with the radio reception it works grand

Admittedly a basic radio with the stuff I wanted on it, like the aux in, rca out etc. Also got on the other side of the world. Not a knock off either. But got brand new by myself in 2008 and still working well to this day :)

I'll get the model of it up later when I dig out the box

    Edit: Gotcha

Just to bookend this thread, picked one up this afternoon in Ballyvolane.

Conclusion? Don't ring the helpline and ask on Boards instead!

Just been to Lidl in leixlip. They had 2 car radios left, and also a good but of the other car stuff left. Plenty of oil, sponges etc.

As the chap who installed the racking in the Lidl distribution center(Hello;)), I can assure ye, they're not sold out, they have pallets of them, and they will be sent out to the shops on rotation again, just wait a while. I find Lidl stuff to be good and they are great on warranty issues as well.:)

I know I said I'd bookend this thread, but seeing as it's here I may as well use it.

Fitted the radio on Friday and it's a grand bit of kit for the money. It doesn't keep some of my settings though, so I'm wondering if it's faulty or if it's the way it was (stupidly) designed? It keeps the radio stations spot on, which is the biggest thing. But anytime I change the dim on it, and set a certain eq, they've both defaulted back to standard when the unit is powered on again.
    Surely that's not right??

Did you splice wires. What sort of car is it in?

Dim as in when you turn the lights on?

Some colours don't match up on the loom, best to google your cars colours and match them to the loom
