    Hi There

Just looking for some advice if possible, please.
My then partner and I took out a mortgage in 2010 to build our home. We are now married. Do we need to let revenue know in relation to the Mortgage Interest Relief and will it be a benefit or a loss to us now that we are married?

Look forward to hearing from you,

    Thanks
    JB

if you were both originally on the mortgage and both claimed trs on the mortgage at the beginning then you need to do nothing. it will be status quo.

if only one of you had the mortgage and thus only one of you could claim trs, then it would be beneficial now for the second person to start claiming trs on the mortgage.
