Right, so this isn't a Government bashing thread.

A woman at the bus stop was giving out earlier about something ridiculous, then she comes out with " But it's the Governments fault".

Also a while back I was listening to a radio show and they were talking about shoplifting, a caller gets on and trys defending shoplifters "It's the Governments fault" people are forced to shoplift etc.

It just got me thinking that whenever someone isn't happy about something they automatically blame the Government.

    What's the best one's you've heard?

I often wonder how helpless you would need to be in order to blame the government for every misfortune in your life.

Mind you, I'd dance a jig if they slashed the dole.

The government is the new negative go to thats in style at the moment, it suits people to not take responsibility for even stuff they CAN control and its so much easier to blame someone else.....in this case the big bad government.

We're been raised to believe that everything is somebody's fault, but that somebody isn't us. We're culturally driven to refuse to acknowledge our mistakes and instead find a fall guy for it so that we can claim some compensation for it, or at the very least avoid having to get into trouble for it or fix our own fncking problems ourselves.

This is why the guy sitting in the gutter out of his brains on heroin is a "victim of the recession" and some knackbag has been "forced" to rob stuff from the shop because the government has raised taxes.

    Indeed.
I which every time someone said "look what you made me do!" it would autocorrect into "look at what I did!".

I wasn't raised to believe that.

I suppose it would be more of a cultural thing than personal.
