yes, i bought the speedo one. I has not been as good as i'd thought. I got it because I get bored in the pool very easily. I have had the following problems:
water get trapped between earbud and ear drum
Wedged in the earbud further and it got lodged there!(very embarrising actually!)
    hard to hear sometimes
quite difficult to put headphones on and general set up
Left headphone has stopped working - went to main speedo shop and they dont stock it!
lost recharger and finding it difficult to find relacement (a regular audio to USB cable will not recharge it)
you have to change your backstroke so as to not to dislodge head phones!

Apart from that I am hopeful to get it running again and use it once more!

Had a feeling this would be the answer. I think i would be able to stay in the pool alot longer with an MP3 player but i hear bad things.

I found a company that sells waterproof iPod shuffles. I may give them a try. I would like to have something to swim with when doing longer swims.

I have a Finis SwimP3 which doesn't use any earbuds and it is incredible!
Check them out on Amazon as there are good prices there and there are some tips on SwimSmooth as to how to use them for tempo training.

I absolutely love it. It makes sessions fly and holds heaps.

I don't really get the point of these. Do you not completely loose focus if you're listening to music in the water?

Any other users of the Finismp3? They are almost 3 times the price of my speedo mp3 player.

Oh, yeah another quibble,I too did get trapped water in my ear drum with the buds!

They looks insane! I was toying with the idea of the speedo water one,but dont like the idea of those in ear earphones with the very small parts at the end of them. Afraid they could get lodged in my ear

    - Do these "sound" like normal mp3 players with headphones? Do you get a headache or anything from them.

    - Is there any stockist in Ireland where I can try before I buy them?

The sound is as clear as if you had decent earphones in and I haven't had any headaches from them. I use them for just about all my swims in the pool, which can sometimes be as long as two hours.

I don't know about stockists - mine were bought on Amazon as that's where the best price was available.

I see a pair second hand on Amazon for 89E, I moved to Italy last year and the vender in the USA doesn't ship here!

I use a ipod housing and headphones from a company H2O audio, expensive enough but it works quite well. Sound is clear, I also bought the additional headphones elastomers, find the christmas tree shaped plugs to be more comfortable.
Only issue is that after 6 months (5 to 6 days a week) the headphones started acting up, and soon gave up the ghost (while wet). I think that it may have been due to leaving the set in my bag wet all the time. So I have bought another pair as I cannot stand swimming without then.
