philips tv with tuner + upc line = no channels

    Hey there,

    So our housemate who had a upx account setup just upped and left and took her account as wellv as the router and set top box with her.

    The upc all in one(the one mounted to the wall) was installed when we moved it and we just bought a new philips tv, 42PFL4606H/12

    It clearly states "Integrated MPEG-4 tuner for HD reception without set top box"

    Plugged in the cable fromt he upc line but tv just cant seem to pick up any digital channles, only the 4 usual rte rte 2 tgr tv3.

    When searching for channles with the tuner I can pick country, then Antenna( DVB-t) or Cable (DVB-C)

    Upon chposing cable it asked for the broadcaster and upc is in the list as well as a "others" option.

    If i choose upc it asks for the network frequency.


    Surely with a tc with an mpeg4 digital tuner i should receive all the freesat channels like e4 etc?

    Is it that fact the line into the house is the upc all in one box or something?

    We just dont want to sign up to upc if we can get the channels on the tv for free ( the ones we usually watch comedy central e4 etc)

    The tv will only pick up the 4 channels from the upc cable. You need a uhf aerial for Saorview and you will only get the 8 Irish channels. Depending on where you live you could pick the channels up with an indoor aerial. For the Uk channels you will need a free to air receiver and satellite dish.
