    I am looking for something

    1. Cheap
    2. Capable to receive a cline (is that called linux ?)
    3. Easy to use.

No other features required. Just a simple STB with the above spec.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Pal.

Can't really discuss c lines on here but if you are looking for something easy to use, cheap, and ideal for a second room, then i wouldn't look any further than an Openbox / Sky box. they do all the above, are HD and pretty much plug n play. (@70-80EUR)

Have had my Openbox S9 for as couple of years now and has worked like a dream with no problems.

If you have a little more to spend a DM800se (dreambox clone) would be a good option. Very stable, lots of support. Bit more complicated than plug n play but easy to learn (more an enthusiasts box) @120EUR

An Ariva 250 or Amiko 8820 or Opticum x7 can support a cline so long as you install the right patch.

They are also very cheap and easy to use.

I have used all 3 boxes. The best out of the 3 imo is the Amiko 8820

and if I also wanted to try and replicate as close as possible to the Sky EPG, would the Vu or DM be able to give it a whirl ?

for example, Leave channel 499 blank.
put Sky News on channel 501.

Either or as there are bouquets out there that replicate them already..

I would have to say pick the vu... Better box by a mile!

You know that post you have over on the satboxes forum ?

Did you get that DVB-T stick to work with the VU+ as well ?

Also on that DVB-T stick can I switch the aerial ? It seems to be some sort of screw in version ?

Ya it works with the vu too.. Just locate the correct drivers off the TS Panel!

The aerial needs an adapter that costs €2..

    http://satboxes.com/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=76

You just plug the co-ax straight in from a bigger aerial then :)

Thanks I also wanted it to power the 5v phantom powered aerial I have, but I have a power inserter somewhere.

Yeah Uno Clones out there for 170 delivered. Nearly half price..... Will give it a shot.
