XBox or Wii or PS3 for 4 & 7 year olds

Hi. Trying to make up my mind on which console for the kids for Christmas.

If I am confident the little one will be able to manage the controller then I will go for the PS3, as I like the hardware and functionality it brings.

So...any thoughts. He's got bigger than average hands. They'll be playing Skylanders, so will be getting the starter pack, plus Mario. I'd also intend on getting some educational/memory/creative type games too. So if people have advice on what controller to get for smaller hands, or whether the Wii is just a better option I would appreciate it. I dont want to end up having to change the console in a year or two.

For a 4 and 7 year old, the Wii is probably the best option, and with the new Wii, the Wii U, being released this week, you should be able to find a Wii console fairly cheap.

Both the PS3 and XBox have games for kids, but the selection is greater on the Wii for that audience.

The wii games arnt as good but the wii is one of them consoles thatll still be working in 20 years . Nintendo Iv found make consoles that last .
X box and playstation have better games but tend to overheat if played too much and usually need to be changed every couple of years .
Every console has its fans . Iv an x box and wii for the kids . They play the x box more. But they will get bored of one and play the other .
Id recommend the wii . Plus the wii has an inbuilt modem and internet is free . You have to pay to play online on xbox .

ive also had same issue with xbox and ps3
-got 2-3 yrs out of them before packing up with overheat issues
dunno hve they resolved those problems
