New landlord and am wondering what is the max allowance an individual can receive? And are tenants not supposed to top-up the amount above the allowance?
Have been on the government site but it is a little confusing! Thanks

    Depends on:
    • Where the property is.
    • Type of property (house/flat)
    • Who is occupying it (single person, couple, family)

RA tenants have to pay a contribution of E35 weekly. And no - they're not allowed to 'top up' the rent. See here for current rates. Bear in mind it's the Budget next week and these will probably change!

    Hope this helps!
