Need a bit of help here as my accountant, well ex accountant was hopeless.
In July 2011 I registered as a sole trader and was doing a good bit of work up until March/April this year. Since then I have only made about 100 a week up until September when I went back to college to do a PLC course (as it was cheaper for time been)

I have not recieved any money into my business account from the 3rd of September. I was lucky enough to get 4 days a week work last week up untill febuary while still been in college 3 days.

My sole trader account is still open as I have to recieve VAT back as my expenses were greater than my VAT recieved. This will be closed in the next few weeks as I know I have to fill out a few forms to get it closed etc.

What I want to know is how can I sort out my Tax so that Im not going to be taxed a bomb. I worked a one off day for a friend of mine's pub I worked in before. When my pay came through, I only got €40 odd when i should of had €85.

Im going to be paid monthly in my new job. My next payment is December 5th but thats only any work up untill Friday 30th. After that I will be getting all decembers pay in January. I have the companies VAT number, is it as simple as allocating all my tax credits to there TAX number?

Sorry for the long story but I have gotten good advice and help here before. So any takers i'd be ever so appreciative.

    Thank
    D

ring your local tax office and ask them to allocate all your PAYE tax credit to this employment, ideally you should have the pub's PAYE number but the VAT no. might be the same.
