Bought a tablet from a seller who, allegedly is UK based. After paying for it, I received an email confirming it was shipped with a few shipping times, depending the warehouse the item was dispatched, and none of them was in UK but from China, HK, USA. The reason I tried to buy the tablet from UK was to avoid any duty taxes and in case of a problem with the tablet, to be able to return it and have it back ASAP.

I told the buyer that I'm going to refuse to sign for the package when it's arriving and s/he offered to pay for any charges, if any. I'm still not happy and going by my original plan of refusing to receive the package.

Can the seller try and charge me for return postage or even restocking fees when s/he clearly lied about their warehouse location?
