UPC Internet Cable Can it be split to get a tv Signal also

    So I have UPC internet and would also like a tv near the router. Can I split this UPC cable and get some channels? Mainly is it gonna affect my Broadband in a negative way:O

    Officially only TV points installed by UPC are allowed. In some areas such as Cork you always need a digital UPC box.

    By splitting a cable you are dropping the signal to the internet router. Depending on the current levels of the router it may work fine or stop dropping out.

    Can you access the page on the router and send a screenshot of the signal readings?

    You can get some analogue signals out. In Cork it is just the basic 4 channels broadcast by RTE, but I've heard you can get more in Dublin. That being said I really won't consider it worth the bother for analogue signals any more.
