Geothermal heating stops working

    Hi,

We bought a house with Geothermal heating, but suddenly wasn't properly working, so we called a plumber that saw a problem with the pressure, one of the keys were left opened and the hole system was without pressure.

He change the part that was damaged, put again pressure and water in the system, and told us to keep an eye in the pressure if was down put more water...

But after doing this for an evening the geothermal boiler stops again, with a light of low pressure on, but the pressure is ok

Also the plumber now is missing and he said he was going to back next morning, but doesn't answer the phone any more, and we tried different ones....

Maybe can be some air in the system, we check the radiators and is only water coming out.

Any tip from somebody that had the same problem before? I will really appreciate to be able to fix this after the bad luck with the plumber and this really cold nights that we are having.

    Thanks in advance!

Low pressure in a heat pump relates to the gas pressure not the water pressure. You need to talk to a refrigeration engineer in relation to this. Likely problems are poor water/air flow on the cooling side or a lack of refrigerant gas due to a leak.

I personally am that not well up on heat pumps.

But if you can post model and details of the heat pump some one on the forum may point you the direction of contact details of a company who can help or had similar experience with that model.

If the heat pump is a known brand there should be an information tag on it with brand and model details.

Is it air to water heat pump, geothermal ground to water or from a well water to water ?

    Most are ground to water.

You will have your heating system to be pressurized most likely underfloor and what the plumber worked on ?

You will have a refrigeration system to be pressurized built into the heat pump and as that other gentleman says you will need a refrigeration specialist or heat pump specialist.

Also you will have a collector system to be pressurized.
