Was viewing cars as I'm still unsure of going for a vectra and came across a gsr going cheap
Owner moving away needs gone ASAP
But he said he's going away but will consider swap for a van?
    How does that makes sense?
    Dodgy?

Everyone selling a car these days is going away and needs it to be gone asap.

Do the same checks you would on any car regardless of the reasons for selling.

Best just to ignore all that crap talk on Donedeal and just assess the car as you would any other. Do proper checks (background and mechanical) and trust your instinct when talking to the buyer.

Most likely the seller is perfectly genuine; it just seems that a lot of people who put ads on Donedeal havent got a clue what they are doing and feel the need to try justify the sale. If only they would realise that people neither care why you are selling the car, nor want to wade through your bloody life story to get to the details of what it is that you are selling...

It is good idea to ask why someone is selling a car, but response is usually not important. I mean if they are selling you a car because it was flooded or has some hidden problems, would they really tell you? BTW if they did and price is right it might be a decent vehicle to get. Check the car always, even if it comes with warranty (because no warranty covers everything and some cover nothing). Some sellers just mindlessly repeat what they see on other adverts or act basing on car buying guides which recommend to have genuine reason to sell a car. Emigration is not bad, but let's face it why would you want to announce that you have limited time to sell car and must accept very low offers?
