I like to wait until the 10 episode is out before i get back ino a season of anything so was just looking to see where u guys rate this compared to the previous six.

    My own ratings per season

    1. Great
    2. Far fetched but still fun
    3. Awful all round
    4. Lithgow and Hall combined to make one of the best seasons of any show
    5. Pretty poor after the expecations of the prev season
    6. Meh!!

    So where is Season 7??

I've enjoyed every season to be honest and that includes this one. By some distance each season has been better than 90% of the crap on TV nowadays but that's just my opinion.

Probably not as good as 4 or even 1, but still darn good

Not the best season ever, but nowhere close to being as bad as the worst seasons. Closer to best than to worst anyway.

id say on par with season 5, the show is/was trying to change things up a bit, and its working/worked out to an extent, i really liked season 5, id say season 6 and 3 were probably my least favorites, but were still enjoyable,

The best since season 4 although not difficult in my book as 5 and 6 were truly awful imo.

Probably just ahead of season 3, which wasnt great, but not a patch on season 1,2 or 4.

Ahead of 5 & 6 which were frankly crap. I don't agree with the poster who thinks those seasons were better than 90% of what's on TV.

Not as good as 4 because we don't have the magnificent Lithgow as Trinity.

Not as good as 1 or 2, when the show was fresher.

More interesting than 3 probably, because Dexter's being unmasked.

    So that's mid-way:
    4,2,1,7,3,5,6

    Agree with Ixoy's post. would be 1, 4, 2, 7, 5, 6, 3 for me.

Lithgow and trinity were great, no question. But I think people are letting that fact cloud them a little. Go back and watch season 4 again. There is alot of pointless filler in there.

Don't get me wrong, great season. But it wasn't perfect. I also think that season 5 gets alot of undeserved flack. Now I quite like both Johnny Lee Miller and Julia Stiles so maybe I'm biased....but I really enjoyed season 5.

Season 6 however, bored me to tears. Fabulous final scene but very disappointing overall. Out of the seven seasons so far, six is the only one I wouldn't watch again. And If I never hear the word "tableau" used again.....I'd be fine with that.

I'm also thrilled with how season 7 has turned out and we still have two episodes left. They took risks. They told a good story. Okay, a few naff bits like Dexter's inner monologue turning into subtitles for the stupid.....and killing people in broad daylight and infront of camera's but the story itself was excellent.

Call me crazy, and I will probably come back and apologize after I rewatch 4 over my Christmas break from College. I think this season when we look back after the Finale next week will just pip season 4.

4 was the greatest tv season of any show ever.

1, 2 and 7 have been pretty great.

    5 great

    6 meh

    3 FML

After the complete joke that was Season 6 - I am so impressed with how the writers managed to turn it around. Definitely on par with the best for me.

Seasons 2, 4 and 7 are now my favourites. Season 6 is the only that I will not watch again, even when I go through all the seasons or show someone the show. Ill just show the last scene and leave it at that.

Just wrapped up S7 tonight - was convinced after the abomination that was S6 that the show was on the way out bit I'm now off to set a reminder in the calendar to look for S8 in Autumn 2013. Back with a bang :)

For me S4 was great, S1 memorable for being different - a lot of the rest isn't hugely memorable but mostly very watchable at worst (apart from S6...).

Season 7 was brilliant. Best season was season 3 with Miguel Prada.

No season can compare with season 4. Simple as.

next some 1 and 7 which are tied for me.

    Then 2

    Then 3 and lastly 5 and 6.

I liked a lot of season 7, but the one thing that really really gets me is how Dexter has so much money.
His get away pack is RAMMED full of cash including loads of €500 notes.
He has a boat, 2 apartments, a nanny that seems to work 24/7.
It just doesnt seem plausible for a forensics expert to have that much cash.
Like even paying 1800 dollars for a ticket to kill Victor in the airport.
    Huge sum of cash like.
