Got up this morning, checked Irish Rail twitter, nothing about delays. Went down to the station in Kilcoole to wait for Arklow train at 6:45, nothing happening there so after half an hour getting lashed out of it Irish rail decides to tweet the commuter trains are operating with bus transfers. Such a great operation. Super stuff Irish rail!

Likewise. Checked the website - no mention of delays. Went to Killiney and was told then. Ticket guy said "not my problem mate" when I asked how I was meant to get to work.

I would recommend the Irish Rail Arklow Station Facebook page for early morning updates for trains south of Greystones as it is maintained by local station staff who would be on duty from very early and would be aware of the "on the ground" situation. They had an update at 05:35.

    Here is the link:
    http://www.facebook.com/irishrailarklowstation

This of course doesn't excuse the fact that the main company sites were not updated until after 07:00.

It’s beyond a joke at this stage, lost count of the amount of times I’ve heard this announcement. Focking joke company.

That's very good, and so simple and effectively 'free' to provide this service. Fair play to the lads down there for that.

Now, wouldn't it be great if they had one at every station?
