I am planning to propose this christmas to my partner of 9 years. But for the first time in my life I'm completely out of ideas! We have a 6month old, so travelling anywhere is out of the question.

I want to do something special, she means the world to me. Any input / ideas / websites etc would be greatly appreciated

    Hot air balloon trip?
A spa weekend away (in Ireland) I know you have a baby, so maybe a local spa and grandparents baby sit for a few hours?
Involve something she likes (a hobby)
If you want, how about waiting to Christmas morning? Put ring in a little box in a big box etc and wrap it up.
Hide ring in the next nappy in the pile and when she goes to change the baby and opens the new nappy, suprise!

I brought my girl up in the plane one evening and popped the question to her. Had to do something different.

There is alot of proposal stories on www.mrs2be.ie.....it might give you some ideas! This one particularly stood out in my mind....he got a big balloon that said marry me and he put it in a big box and wrapped it up and got her to open it! Thought it was perfect....plus you could do it anywhere and its very thoughtful....Best of luck! :)

If you can cook why not surprise her with a meal at home or book your favourite restaurant. To get her out of the house while you prepare everything, you could offer to look after the baby for her to give her a break and send her out for some pampering. Get a baby sitter to watch the kid while you get the house ready.

One idea I had, but never got a chance to use, when I proposed was to create a timeline of our relationship by printing out photos from over the years and writing out little notes that would remind her of things about our relationship that I hold dear, e.g. where we first met, some memorable events/dates/activities. The plan was to stick them up around the house and create a mini treasure hunt. So she would walk in the door and see a picture or a note and an instruction to go to another room, where she would find more pictures and notes and directions to the next room. Finally she would end up in the kitchen or dining room where I would have a meal ready and propose at some stage during the evening.

It's not a grand gesture like a hot air balloon but I think it would be a nice proposal and very personal to you both.

No matter what way you do it what matters is that you've decided this is the person you want to marry. That's special enough no matter how you ask the question.

Brilliant thank you so much! Love the idea of the boxes Christmas morning.
The nappy one make me laugh, I'm not sure she would see the romantic gesture
