tie neck dress

Please help out a total fashion novice here. I live in jeans and hoodies.

I have this dress that ties round the neck. What is the protocol with this? I always tied it in a knot and left the loose ends hanging down my back. Or do you tie it in a bow? Going to a friend's birthday party this weekend and just don't know what to do about this! (First world problems ;) )

Also, I don't dance, I never have and never will, but at what point during the night is it acceptable to take off your heels and put on flats?

She'll kill me if I show up in a hoody! :pac:

Either is okay. If the ends are long enough and you have them tied in a knot, they might fall forward which ruins the look of the dress. But tying it in a bow can be annoying. Just go with whichever feels more comfortable. A bow might look better if you have your hair up.

Are you used to wearing heels? If not, your calf muscles will die when you take them off. I very rarely wear heels so my legs aren't used to them, but taking them off after a night out is better than having to hobble around when I want to be dancing. But you probably won't need to keep wearing heels once the main photos are taken. You could switch to flats for dancing anyway.

Cheers! I think tying it up and letting the ends hang down my back as I have done feels better.

I wear heels about once a year! I'll only cope about three hours in them. I don't dance, I just never do. But I guess when the dancing starts I can take the heels off!
