    Hi,

A green light went on on the right hand side of the dashboard of my (2006) Kia Sorento today. Not sure what the reason is for it to go on but it doesn't seem to be driving as smoothly now since?
I kow this prob sounds very vague  but I'm useless when it comes to car stuff, anyone seen similar light on dashboard before?

Its a horizontal line with two vertical lines at the end and theres a small box in the middle of the horizontal line ... for all the world it kinda looks like the bar under the car that connects the 2 wheels together??!

Did you activate the four wheel drive? don't know if they are full time four wheel drive or if there is a switch to activate it.

    I'd imagine you've turned the 4wd on?

Yep that's it! I was just out in it there, it fells really 'stiff n jerky' when try to reverse. I didn't have it in 4WD but i suppose I may have out it in that mode today without even knowing it?? Could that light show up though without it having to be in 4WD mode??

if its green chances are 4wd is engaged if you have a part time 4wd model .

this switch should be set to 2HI .

If you have a full time 4wd model and only 4HI and 4LOW are available then it may have gone into low range somehow.

either way , if you pull out the fuse for the 4wd system it reverts to 2wd anyway (its an electronic system)
