Rainy Night in Soha wasn't originally on Rum, Sodomy and the Lash. That's a great album, though.

Yeah, I like Pogues. Love A Rainy Night In Soho. Apart from that my favourite song would be their version of Dirty Old Town

Real pity there's no Dublin gig for Christmas this year, only doing the one night and its in London

    Great band though, wild gigs

For years I thought The Pogues were only famous for Fairytale in NY, but recently have really got into them and the rest of their songs are as good!

Yeah, gutted that there's no Christmas gig this year.

    Love RNIS and FONY. Masterpieces.

Also a big fan of Fiesta, Thousands are sailing, and A Pair of Brown Eyes

Fantastic band. Can't really choose a fav song but Rainy night in Soho would be up there.
From "Rum..." my favourites are the old "I'm a Man You Don't Meet Everyday" and "Navigator"

I think they're atrociously bad. I really can't see their appeal at all!

I like some of their stuff, used to be a big fan but haven't listened to them in ages. Favourite song was And the band played Waltzing Matilda

I think they are one of those bands that you just hate to love.

Fairytale of New York still feels good this time of year too.

Yeah for sure, it wouldn't be Christmas without fairytale of New York. :)

As a songwriter MacGowan is up there with the best of them imo.
Too many great songs to choose from but will go with If I should fall from Grace with God and White City.

btw accordion player James Fearnly has a book out now about the band back in the day, its a great read.

    Fifteen minutes later
We had our first taste of whiskey
    There was uncles giving lectures
    On ancient irish history
The men all started telling jokes
And the women they got frisky
By five o'clock in the evening
    Every bastard there was pissed

He fought the champ in Pittsburgh
And he slashed him to the ground
    He took on tiny tartanella
And it only went one round

Oh no definitely not a troll, I honestly and genuinely don't see how people like it at all. The best Christmas carols IMO are "All I Want For Christmas Is You" By Mariah Carrey and "My Only Wish This Year" by Britney :)

Red Roses for Me still one of my favorites albums of all time. Wish I could have seen them in there prime. Seen them a few years ago and was so dissapointed. Could barely make out a word MacGowan was saying.

They've announced 4 UK shows in December this year. Wonder if theres any chance of a Dublin gig being added.
