Laptop For Recreational + College use?

Hey all, I'm looking to purchase a laptop pretty much in the new year for both college and at home for recreational stuff as well as college work.
I've pretty much had my eyes set on an ultrabook by a few makes but to be honest I have come across cheap ones with great specs but bad kinks like terrible battery life or something like that or they're mad expensive due to their 'thinness'. I'm pretty much looking for a laptop with an i5 processor and 6GB of RAM, everything else can fall into place. Though that being said I'm not looking to go over €650 MAX for it. I had an eye on the Lenovo U410 Ideapad, but again, apparently the battery is near useless on it.
