I believe Purana is a kind of tea.

    1. Not sure
    2. Dublin slang; "deadly". (watch the Commitments)
    3. Culchie slang; "messing".

You should have heard of the last two.

If those three words are what the "kids" are saying, then you've just made me feel very old as well....

    Cheers OP, cheers. :(

I have absolutely no idea what you're skitten on about OP

In my experience, a lot of the people using "skitten" (aka, lolling), are old enough to have bingo wings and grandkids.

    As in, mid thirties up.

Rapah, is an alternative and equally annoying spelling of the phrase beloved of Roddy Doyle, "rapeh'".

Purana=piranha, and due to the rarity of its usage, does not enjoy any cohesive form, in and of itself.

I trust this answers your plaintive appeal for knowledge, ya bollix.

I live in a little town right on the outskirts of Dublin, but it's in Kildare.
We have our own little bubble here, and or something. I'm ****ing hammered. This sort of makes sense to me now, but won't in the morning.

    1992?
If that's when you were born, then you're 17 years younger than me.

These are all dublin scobie patois :-

Purana = put on a, as in 'I gorrourra bed and purana pair of runners then went straight to the shops'

Rapah = rapid, slang for 'very good' as in 'Djaknow what's rapah ? Wearing Pajamas all day. I gorourra bed and went to de shops and I only had to purana pair of runners djaknowarrI mean yeh ? Rappah.'

Siktten = vomitted before doing something else and describing same, or may be slang for simply feeling discommoded at something, as in 'I gorrourra bed and purana pair of runners burrI was still locked so I was siktten' or 'Yer one is having a baby for him but I scored him last night and when she find ouh I'd sai she'll be siktten'.

    Hope that helps.

    I died and was resurrected.

It only took three days. Fibre optic cables and all that.

They're all knacker words that some scum-folk of dublin use as they eat their heroin sandwiches.

I love when people who are not from Dublin go on an anti-Dublin rant.
It amuses me because I live right on the border of Dublin, so people from the rest of the country think I'm a Dub.

The abuse I've been given both in Dublin and outside there still makes me laugh.
When I worked in Dublin I was a culchie. When I worked outside Dublin I was a Dublin **** or words to that effect.

You're all ****. Dubs and culchies alike.

In the words of William Shatner; "Get a life".

Is it not a derogatory term for someone from Cork?

They all claim to be "Langers", so I thought that everyone else in the country used that word to take the piss out of them.
