    Hi folks
Quick one. Want to band a few weanlings rather than burdizzo.

anyone know any body that would do this. In midlands preferrably.

Just want to get someone to do it that knows what they are at. See it advertised on the connacht agri website but dont fancy going at it myself. It too costly if I get one wrong.

    Dont want to use Burdizzo.

Why do you not want to use burdizzo Tubby? Do you think banding is a better job?

Make sure the are vaccinated fully for blackleg and tetanus before banding.

I definitely think they didnt go back as much with the banding but the lad that does it has moved.

I have tried both ways a good bit and would much prefer the banding. it a cleaner job too. I saw lately where Grange did studies and showed there was very little difference in thrive disruption between the two methods.

When selling cattle after as bullocks, if there is nothing there, there is no question about when they were castrated - are they strong etc.

these lads are pushing on a little in age and some have good big bags (none mad old or anything so not trying to hide anything) but i know in our local marts, if a lad has a bit of a bag left, it puts off buyers straight away.
