I am just wondering if any of you are aware of Energy Labelling for building materials. Nothing to do with appliances but about materials such as timber, concrete blocks etc....
I remember coming across an article a while back which talked about introducing this as part of some eu directive but have not had much luck finding it.
It was to do with introducing a labelling system which would show the embodied energy content of materials from "cradle to gate" as far as I know.
I have not seen or heard much about this since, do any of you know if there are plans for the introduction of this system or any information about it?

Not many will do an embodied energy assessment on their product. There a new en standard wide system bit I'm not aware of an ee / co2 approach from companies generally. If you want a database goggle the 'ICE database'
