Looking for advise on where to buy good quality blinds for a new house build in Meath. There seems to be a few places online and many shops. Has anyone purchased some recently? I am looking for cream Venetian blinds for two corner windows in kitchen. I assume there different types of quality when it comes to Venetian? I want something that will last. I am looking for black out blinds for bedrooms. Probably go for a neutral color. Any advice from people who have purchased recently would be great. Thanks a million

Others may have a different experience, but I would strongly recommend that you do not put blinds up in a new house. Give it long enough for the house to completely dry out or you are just wasting your money as the blinds will mildew.

    +1 on this.

Dust particles and also any danpness left in the newly plastered/skimmed walls will still be in the air for up to 3 months.

Put up some cheap net curtains and cheap light curtains for the 1st few months and then invest in the blinds.

You can buy telescopic curtrain and net curtain poles in Ikea or any curtain/fabric shop (Hickeys/HomeFocus and Guineys) for not alot of euros.

They sit into the reveal of the window and are spring loaded,so thery stay in place because of the spring tension...no need for drilling holes or screws.:)

Fit some net curtains and/or a set of cheap light curtains, onto the telescopic pole, then slot the pole up into the window reveal.

Job done for the 1st few months.:)
