    Hi.
    Was wondering does anybody have experience with how it works out financially with being an undergraduate nursing internship student while at the same time receiving BTE allowance? I am starting my internship in January, and have been on BTE for the past 5 years (but still received reviews for the original social welfare benefit, which had been One-Parent-Family before I started studying). So, from January onward I will get paid as a nursing internship student, and I am not sure yet how much the pay will be exactly, but its estimated at around 650 Euros every two weeks.
    My question is now, will I still be eligible for the BTE payment? Although I'll still be a student, I will be fully rostered, i.e. working full hours...

    Does anyone know? The only thing I know is that BTE is not means-tested, so it should be fine, shouldnt it? Not sure if I'd be able to survive on the internship pay only, as my rent allowance for definite will be going, so I will have to pay rent in full myself as well...

    Hi

    My partner qualified last year and was paid full BTEA for the duration of the Internship. Instead of the allowance finishing at the end of the academic year (May/June) he kept it until September.

    It's an integral part of the nursing qualification and therefore a student is allowed to keep it. Rent allowance didn't apply in his situation so I don't know how that would be affected.
