registered about 5 years now.worked brilliantly for first few years as you could get vat back on everything you bought from a vat registered business/farmer. rules changed a while back and vat can only be reclaimed now on secondhand goods traded in wirh a vat invoice. you win when trading in the machinery that you own already as you get vat back on all the purchase price if applicable and dont need to return vat on what you owned before registering.it works wellalso if you are near the border as if you are vat reg in roi you dont have to pay vat in ni
