US troops are about to be deployed to the Sinai Peninsula. Why? One might add...To protect Israel who possesses masses of tanks and nuclear warheads against stone-throwers and bottle-rocket boys?

The US deployment in Yemen a few months ago was supposed to be just a few troops to protect an embassy....hmmm.

If anyone anymore is naive enough to think that these deployments are to keep you safe from a retard on a plane trying to set his sneakers or his kaks on fire then please report to your nearest fortune teller.

The US has had an augmented infantry battalion's worth of troops in the Sinai for as long as I can remember, they rotate every year or so. It's considered to be a fairly desirable posting, I know people who have done a tour there.

Either the OP is unaware of the region's history, or he sucks at providing useful commentary.

Having seen the OP's posts in AH I'd say its a bit of one and a bit of the other.

I did see the following quote in Jpost earlier today but didn't particularly think much of it, perhaps the OP was referring in some way to this?

OP, next time please give us a link or something more tangible to work with than a rant against the US military.
