''A fool and her money are easily parted ''. She could have just copied a pasted photo from Google ...but she's still a fool

    Yep, all her fault.

Likewise, if someone buys and expensive car it's their own fault if it get's robbed. Plus if a woman if raped, it's her own fault for wearing that skirt.

I think I'll do the same. It will be like a fly trap and I'll finally catch the thieving bakstards who robbed my 90 year old neighbour.

Teenage kid does something stupid, gets blamed for scumbags actions. Lesson learned the hard way I guess.

    What a dumb bitch.

    From the article:
The robbers quickly figured out where the house was located and traveled there to steal the money. The image was posted at 4pm on Thursday, May 24. By 11:30pm the two masked men arrived with a knife and wooden club.

Dont know why its saying they figured out the address. Lets be honest here, chances are it was done by someone who knew her. Probably even on her friends list

****, that's awful. That girl learned a hard lesson.

    Yep, all her fault.

Knowledge is knowing that you have a right to keep your own money.

Wisdom is knowing you don't tell the entire world you've a few large in your drawer.

Is this really that hard to understand?

Closer to home, It's been reported in the news that old folks in Donegal are leaving €50 on the kitchen table in an effort to stop burglars beating the crap out of them for money.
That is so fúcked up and is an embarrassment to this country.

    GOD DAMN IT.
I want to find those burglars.
Get hold of them for just 5 minutes.

    and buy them a beer.

In future I'll be sure to only buy 2nd hand clothes so muggers on the street will think my pockets vacant. If I do have a "few large" I'll make sure only to buy a home in a dodgy working class area so I'll have less chance of being burgled. After all, I can't be living in a nice upper middle class area as my mere presence there would indicate that I have a "few large". And I just have too much ****ing wisdom to be doing that shít....

So she flashed Granny's cash on FB, texted her mates to come round and rough the place up a bit while she skedaddled with the wedge to split with them later and everyone would think it was opportunist robbers who got the lot?

And this is a six month old story.

I see. You're talking about how the world should be and I'm talking about how it is.

In an ideal world a person should be able to walk through the most dangerous estates in the country, pissed drunk with a wadge of cash in their hand.

The real world doesn't work like that and until we build a world of love, romance, virtue.. heck, ponies for everyone, well, let's try a bit of wisdom.

Surely the only people who'd see that would be those she has as facebook friends? She needs to be more careful of who she accepts.

Yeah heard that myself. My dad was telling me about it during the week.
Not sure what to make of it tho. Sad if true, what they do to stop being attacked

But dont know if its being blown out. I mean what did they do? ask dozens of eldery people and most said they do it? or is it just total media fabrication?

I dunno. its a sad thing either way. But being honest would be a silly thing. A scumbag is hardly going to stop at taking the 50 note.

    It's an imperfect world.

Yes, you have the right to do anything you want and be safe. But in practice, things you do increase the odds of bad stuff happening. It's not 'right', but it is true. There are quite a few studies on it, even the very 'hot-topic' issue of rape.

I don't believe anyone deserves to be raped.
I don't believe there is any justification for raping someone.

But there are well correlations between actions you can choose to avoid and rape. Since this isn't a perfect world, some would consider it wise to mitigate risky behaviour.

Not if privacy settings are set to public, or even friends of friends, which most are.

The story is from May and yet it's only getting an airing here now.

The AH reaction time is slipping :(

    :D
It's not certain how the pair got hold of the girl's address but, given her posting tendencies, it seems likely that she's published the details online.

When did it show up on reddit? That could explain it.

What an utterly utterly ridiculous post. So your comparing rape to the consequences of an idiot flaunting money on facebook?

I'm going to call bluff on the photo, what your looking at is a wad of 1 dollar notes folded in half and wrapped in a 100 dollar bill.

It may be media exaggeration but in the same article which I read on this it mentioned that with the closure of garda stations that cops are having to travel up to 50 miles to respond to incidents. This I think we can know to be true, rural Ireland is becoming more isolated and much more open to the type of crime and scum mentioned.
