Bad mpg on diesel

I'm getting extremly poor mpg from my 09 chevrolet epica 2 litre diesel, (same engine as opel antara, hyundai sante fe / sonata, kia sportage)
And looking online from other peoples mpg they are getting roughly 46 mpg,
My first fill I got 31.2mpg and the next fill was 24.6, and this tank is nearly empty and isn't looking any better.
I've serviced the car this week with new oil and filter, air filter and just after putting a diesel filter in aswell.
Is there anything else I can do to see if there is a reason for this. Thanks

Am using it as a taxi so stop start town driving during the week but the 25 mpg has happened over a weekend where I done 200 miles and wasn't stopped much.

    No colm it's a manual,
No diagnostic lights on, car has no loss of power and I can't see any leaks or drops on the ground where I park.
    car has 47k miles

Any noticeable smoke from the exhaust under power?

Poor economy in a diesel usually means overfuelling, most probably from a fault in the air system. I'd be inclined to find someone who can run a proper diagnostic on the car and work from there.

Cheers will do. Have had it on a diag computer before but it wasn't compatible with the diesel epica for whatever reason so might pop up to chevrolet to get them to see. thanks
