Overpriced courier

Just wondering if I was right not to pay a courier 30 euro for a trip from Dublin to Waterford, I got 6 things delivered about the weight and size of two bags of sugar each, I usually get parts delivered much bigger and heavier for 10 to 15 euro, was I right to only pay 20euro

2 bags of sugar will be 2 kgs , usually I tape my items together and only pay 7.95 Euros in total.
It could be picked up/delivered anywhere in Ireland/NI.

However this is next day delivery only,sometimes you will have to pay extra for the same day service.

Did you order a courier? Its not "an post", I certainly would have paid him, its 100 miles from Dublin to Waterford. In fact if I was the courier i wouldn't have given you the goods unless you paid.

Well you see I didn't send them ( the company I bought them off put them in the van , they should have boxed them I suppose) and I bought them Tuesday and only got them Thursday after dinner, I just thought 30 euro was a bit crazy, maybe I was wrong??

No I didn't organise the courier , I didn't refuse to pay him but I said 20 euro was more than enough, I generally get bigger packages delivered for 10 euro, today for instance I got 3 fairly big packages from Dublin for 10 euro

I'd be taking it up with your supplier, throwing an extra €30 on top of your items is a bit cheeky alright.

Well I know them years , they just asked if I wanted dpl ( usually get them at 10 euro) but they said did I want a local lad in my area as they had other stuff he was bringing to a lad 5 miles from me , so I said I would go with he local guy plus I was on his route, I just took it for granted it would be 10 euro max 15euro, but 30 I thought was huge suppose next time il ask

Ya they prob would have but when they said it was a local lad not far from me I said I would give it to the small local guy as I know how hard it is for smaller guys and maybe in future give him some business asvi use couriers alot but I suppose I will know in future!!
