Audio Describe on a Triax TSC114 set-top box?

    Hi

I'm thinking of replacing our Sky HD+ box with a Triax TSC114. I've one question though that Peats, etc. haven't been able to answer, but I was hoping someone here might be able to.

My wife is blind, and she uses the Audio Describe feature on the UK channels. The Traix has an AD button on the remote, but the manual doesn't say whether it plays the Audio Describe voice-over or not. Does anyone know whether it does or not?

    Thanks

It doesn't look good. On some channels it seems to just play the main audio track a second time with a delay.
I used this page to find AD supported channels with no luck.

Thanks for checking this. BBC 1 London and ITV 1 London broadcast AD, not the Northern Ireland variations, and typically for the soaps and the more popular programs. BBC HD and some BBC 2 programs also have AD.

I'll look again at those channels and get back to you.

    It works!
The AD button only affects the AD volume (in conjunction with the volume +/- buttons). You need to press audio and select 'NAR' to enable AD.

Great! Thanks very much for trying this for me. Looks like we'll be getting a Triax box after all
